floorboards
I just figured out a way to grab pictures from my camera phone. check out the pictures i took of my volcanic and holey apartment.
when the floor was going klingnony and close ups

I forgot that i had these pictures taken in low resolution cuz my phone was running outta space and i haven't figured out then how to get pictures outta the phone. now i can take more pix to show. yay. ok now for a picture of what happened afterwards....
ya baby! highest resoltuion on the phone. they put a board to cover the mess, but this is where my bed used to be. now its in front of my closets. notice its still bumpy towards the edge where they stopped taking out the floorboards.

today, some work was actually done. some drilling, some pipe shoving, but still not done. they're coming back tomorrow. hopefully they'll take out the bump too and i can finally put furniture on it or walk on it without tripping.

the start of a new year
Happy New Year everybody! Well, let's see how the year ended for me. Christmas was fun -- ate a lot, saw some friends, but the action is all at the end of the year.
On the 30th of December, the new heating system in the apartment was nice and toasty. So toasty that the floorboard started to do a klignon forehead wrinkle -- in other words, i almost had a volcanic eruption in my apt. The floors started to angle like a hat where the heating system ends and the floors were un-normally heated. I had to call the concierge on his emergency number (cell phone) since the heating was hissing at me and the whole floor was about to go in the hat position along the middle of the apt. He was there in 5 minutes. The next thing I know, he calls for backup who arrived in a few hours and they cut off the heating to the entire building. Then they cut the pipes leading to my apartment, and left a hole in the floor. I had to displace my bed of course. For the next few days, I stayed with a friend. I was given an electric heater for the time being but the thing is disgusting. You turn it on, and you smell mold or mildew or something. This machine is like 50 years old or something and the plug looks unsafe. So ja, either you choke on the mold or freeze to death, so I opted to stay elsewhere.
Anyhoo, for the next few days I keep calling the concierge asking when the problem can be fixed, since I don't want random people coming into my apt unannounced and guess what???!!! They told me that the owner is on vacation and even they don't know when the problem can be fixed. Plus, somehow they cut the heating to their son's room too and took an electric heating thingy. Of course this does not have that much impact on them, since its only one room that isn't heated. I only have one room!!!! I doubt they're using the stupid electric heater.
So, its been 5 days since the incident, and still I hear nothing from the concierge. Wonderful huh? And to top it all off, I found mud stains on my couch-bed, whose sheets I just washed, and my dresser was turned around when I purposely turned it toward the walls. I'm just a bit teeeeed off. Isn't this a great way to end and begin the new year?????!
